Can you include rental income in the same return?

Yes! If you earn rental income from one or more properties, we’ll include it in your annual tax return (a fee applies). We’ll make sure it’s reported correctly and help you claim allowable expenses like repairs, insurance, and letting fees.

What expenses can you claim?

It depends on your situation, but common expenses include things like medical and dental expenses, e-workers allowance, college fees, pension contributions and other tax credits and allowances you didn’t claim during the year, such as rental, dependent relative, single person child carer credit etc. If you’re a landlord, you can usually claim costs such as property maintenance and mortgage interest, as long as they meet Revenue rules.
